Busy Back in Baltimore

After driving a total distance of 1,400 miles between Baltimore and Chicago, the SalesWarp team has hit the ground running following IRCE 2012. Just a month after the Magento Imagine Conference, we were unsure if our team would be attending its first IRCE event. Upon registering, David Anderson our V.P of Marketing and I kept our noses to the grindstone. Although the process was frustrating and sometimes hectic due to the short timeframe, it helped shape our character as a team that performs well under pressure. In the end, making a decision to attend IRCE proved to be a good one because of all the great conversations and relationships that have been developed since.

The best way to describe the Internet Retailer Conference and Exhibition is a collection of companies gathered in controlled chaos. Many different aspects of the show including breakout sessions, in-booth discussions and demos all had the potential to become unorganized as they ran simultaneously. Internet Retailer as well as all the participating sponsors did a standup job at coordinating all show related activities. We utilized our high traffic booth area in the E-commerce section of the show site to engage, discuss and meet with a handful of unique and interesting retail and partner prospects. Through on-site demos and other social events our team was able to present how SalesWarp gives retailers complete control over all of their E-commerce operations through one consolidated Storefront Management System.

Additionally, at this particular conference we had the chance to co-sponsor one of IRCE’s biggest after parties. Rocktopia hosted by Avalara, is an annual party following IRCE that was held at Buddy Guy’s Legends Club about 2.5 miles from McCormick Place. The event gave everyone a chance to network and unwind with a few cocktails while listening to a house jazz band that was absolutely spectacular. Not to mention having access to an amazing party bus that brought us home that night. We would like to thank each and every sponsor that made this event a night to remember including One Pica, PrestaShop, Kcentric, 4-Tell, Hybris, Monsoon Commerce, Dydacomp, Bongo and of course Avalara.

Thank you to all of the attendees and potential partners that stopped by our booth during this two-day conference. We look forward to future conversations and hope to see you all at IRCE 2013.
